History & Impact
Our Story
The Stoneham Clubhouse opened its doors with a mission to provide enriching after-school programming for local youth on September 27, 1973. Over the decades, the organization has grown into a trusted pillar of the community, continually expanding its services to meet evolving needs.
In 2013, we began a partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation to operate the Hall Memorial Pool and Splash Pad. This growth continued in 2014 with the opening of the Wakefield Teen Center, located at the Americal Civic Center. Recognizing the increasing need for dedicated teen programming in Stoneham, the separate Stoneham Teen Center opened its doors in 2019.
In 2019, the organization expanded its reach through a partnership with Stoneham Public Schools, operating after-school programs at Colonial Park, Robin Hood, and South Elementary Schools for youth in grades K – 4th.
Growth most recently continued beyond Stoneham and Wakefield, and included additional missions. 2022 brought us the community boating program in Wakefield, and in 2024, the Saugus Teen Center opened at Square One Mall. Most recently in 2025, INspire Café launched in Wakefield and the Medford Public Library — creating meaningful employment opportunities for more than 40 individuals with diverse abilities along with pre-k programming in Stoneham.
