Teen Center FAQ
Unlike our K-4 Child Care programs, the Teen Center operates on an Open Door Policy. This means members are free to arrive and depart at their own discretion. While our staff supervise the facility and engage with teens while they are here, we do not strictly monitor when a teen chooses to walk home or leave the building.
No. We do not provide transportation to or from the Teen Centers. Members typically walk from nearby schools, get dropped off by parents, or drive themselves (if applicable).
We believe that cost should never be a barrier to a safe future. The $12 monthly fee is heavily subsidized and represents a fraction of the actual cost to run our centers.
This is possible thanks to our community. Our operation is funded by the generous support of individual donors, grants, and corporate sponsors who cover the gap so that every family can afford access.

Yes. New members who sign up before the school year begins are charged $12 to enroll, but their membership is then automatically paused until September 1, 2026, when the Teen Center opens for the school year. Your next charge won’t happen until a month after that.
We believe in supporting the whole child. At our Stoneham location, we have a licensed Mental Health Clinician on-site to provide support, guidance, and a listening ear for members who need it. Across all locations, our staff are trained in “Trauma-Informed Care” and serve as positive mentors for youth.
Membership is $12/month per teen. Returning members who were enrolled during the 2025/26 school year are automatically re-enrolled and charged on September 1. New members are charged on the date they sign up, and then monthly on that same date going forward (for example, a member who signs up on 9/13 will be charged again on 10/13). You’ll receive an email receipt each time. Membership renews automatically and continues until you cancel.
To check or update your payment method: log in to your RecDesk account, go to your Profile page, and click “Manage Payment Options” in the left sidebar.

If a monthly charge doesn’t go through, your teen’s membership and Club access will be paused until the payment issue is resolved. To avoid any disruption, we recommend keeping your payment method current โ you can update it anytime in your RecDesk account under Profile โ Manage Payment Options.
You can cancel at any time by emailing billing@bgcmetronorth.org. There’s no cancellation fee, and you won’t be charged again once your cancellation is processed.
Every member of your household with a membership needs to complete three forms once per calendar year:
To find them: log in to RecDesk, go to your Profile page, and click “Forms” in the left sidebar.
- Annual Family Information for Reporting & Grants โ you may select “prefer not to answer” on any individual question
- Teen Center Member Purchase Agreement
- Teen Center Membership Registration Form โ completed once per teen, this keeps emergency contacts, medical information, and pickup authorization current for your teen’s safety
To find them: log in to RecDesk, go to your Profile page, and click “Forms” in the left sidebar.
Each teen in your household needs their own membership and their own Registration Form, and the $12/month fee applies per teen. If your household’s situation calls for an adjustment, email billing@bgcmetronorth.org and we’ll work with you on a case-by-case basis.
Yes. If the $12/month fee is a barrier for your family, please email billing@bgcmetronorth.org โ we’re happy to discuss options.
